Postmasburg is a town in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. Location The Town is located approximately 170 km east of Upington. It is north of Griquatown and west-south-west of Daniëlskuil. History Originally a station of the London Missionary Society called Sibiling, it became a Griqua village with the name Blinkklip. It was proclaimed a town on 6 June 1892 and named after the Reverend Dirk Postma (1818–1890), founder of the Reformed Churches in South Africa. The town achieved municipal status in 1936. Lohatla is a training area of the South African National Defence Force. Dirk Postma (Dokkum, Friesland, the Netherlands, 10 January 1818 – Burgersdorp, 28 December 1890) was the first minister in the Reformed Churches in South Africa, Reformed Church in South Africa and the founder and first professor of the Church’s theological school in Burgersdorp, in the Eastern Cape, the forerunner of the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, Theological School and University in Potchefstroom. His biographer, Dr. G.C.P. The N'chwaning mine (or N'Chwaning mines) are located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. N'chwaning has one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa having estimated reserves of 323.2 million tonnes of manganese ore grading 42.5% manganese. The Reformed Churches in South Africa () is a Christian denomination in South Africa that was formed in 1859 in Rustenburg. Members of the church are sometimes referred to as ''Doppers''.
