Posterity (play)
''Posterity'' is a 2015 play written and directed by the Pulitzer Prize-award-winning American playwright Doug Wright. The play focuses on the 1901 encounters between Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland and famed playwright Henrik Ibsen, when the latter sat for a series of sessions to have his bust sculpted. It premiered off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theatre Company's Linda Gross Theater Summary Norway's most celebrated sculptor Gustav Vigeland (Linklater) is commissioned to create the last official portrait of the country's most famous writer, but Henrik Ibsen (Noble) proves to be an irascible, contentious sitter, as the two men wage war over both his legacy and his likeness. Doug Wright
Douglas Wright (born December 20, 1962) is an American playwright, librettist, and screenwriter. Known for his extensive work in the American theatre in both plays and musicals, he has received numerous accolades including the Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award. Wright first earned acclaim earning the Obie Award for Best Playwright for his darkly satirical play '' Quills'' (1995), about the final days of the French sadist and author Marquis de Sade. He later adapted it into the 2000 film of the same name, earning a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay. He went on to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play for his debut Broadway play, '' I Am My Own Wife'' (2004). John Noble
John Noble (born 20 August 1948) is an Australian actor. Henry Stram (born September 10, 1954) is an American actor and singer. He is the son of famous NFL coach Hank Stram. Early life Stram grew up in Kansas City, while his father was the coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. He performed with The Barn Players until he moved to New York City in 1973 and studied acting at the Juilliard School. While at Juilliard, he frequented Cafe La Fortuna, a cafe that opened in 1976 and was known for its garden, opera music and Italian desserts. An off-Broadway theatre is any professional theatre venue in New York City with a seating capacity between 100 and 499, inclusive.
