Post Bellum
Post Bellum is a Czech educational nonprofit organization based in Prague. The organization was formed in 2001 by a group of historians and journalists with the aim of increasing public knowledge of the 20th century history of the Czech Republic and neighboring countries, especially among younger generations. Post Bellum has collected thousands of witness accounts by conducting interviews with people who lived through significant periods in history as part of their documentation project, ''Stories of the 20th Century'', and for their online archive, ''Memory of Nations''. They organize various other projects and activities to raise awareness of modern history. The stated aim of the organisation is to "understand the past through authentic testimony". Marek Hilšer
Marek Hilšer (born 23 March 1976) is a Czech politician and university lecturer who has been serving as the senator for Prague 2 since 2018. He also stood in the 2018 and 2023 Czech presidential elections. Early life Hilšer was born in Chomutov in 1976. His family emigrated from Czechoslovakia in 1989 but returned in 1990. He studied Public Relations at Charles University and went to the United States in 1999, where he had jobs including working as a plumber and digger. Danuše Nerudová
Danuše Nerudová (née Peslarová; born 4 January 1979) is a Czech economist and university professor. She has been a Member of the European Parliament since June 2024, representing the Mayors and Independents. She was formerly the chair of the Commission for Fair Pensions and rector of Mendel University in Brno, both from 2018 to 2022. She was a candidate in the 2023 Czech presidential election, finishing in third place in the first round. 2023 Czech Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in the Czech Republic in January 2023, resulting in the election of Petr Pavel. Incumbent president Miloš Zeman was not eligible to run due to the two-term limit. The first round took place on 13 and 14 January.
