Porto Challenger
The Porto Challenger was a professional tennis tournament in Portugal played on clay courts that was part of the ATP Challenger Series. Held in Porto, the first edition of the tournament was in 1982, then it was contested every year from 1987 to 1994, biannually in 1991, 1992 and 1993. It continued as a semi regular event until 1998. Bart Wuyts (born 15 September 1969) is a former professional tennis player from Belgium. Wuyts never reached a final on the ATP Tour, the closest he got was in 1992, when he reached the semi-finals of the Grand Prix Hassan II tournament in Morocco and was a semi-finalist at Italy's Bologna Outdoor. Stefan Koubek (born 2 January 1977) is a retired tennis player from Austria. Koubek played left-handed with a double-handed backhand. His idol when growing up was Thomas Muster. Koubek won three titles, two of which came on hardcourts; despite this, he said his favorite surface was clay. Gabriel Markus (born 31 March 1970) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Career A clay court specialist, Markus was a quarter-finalist in the Boys' Singles event at the 1987 French Open and at his best was ranked second in the Argentine junior rankings.
