Portal Revolution
''Portal: Revolution'' is a 2024 puzzle-platform modification for ''Portal 2'' developed and published by Second Face Software. Set in the ''Portal'' universe prior to the events of ''Portal 2'', the game has the player control an unnamed test subject as she attempts to gain control of a device that will restore the Aperture Science test chambers to full condition. The player traverses the puzzle chambers using the portal gun. In addition to the standard mechanics of ''Portal'' games, the mod also introduces a gel cleansing shower, paired cubes that transport laser beams, and Pneumatic Diversity Vents that transport items. Development of the mod began in 2016; the mod uses a custom version of the Source engine that introduces features that are "impossible in ''Portal 2''" according to the mod developer. The following is a list of characters in '' Portal'' and ''Portal 2'', both developed and published by Valve. Humans Chell Chell is the player-character in both ''Portal'' games. She is a silent protagonist outside of small grunts during physical tasks. Very little truthful information is known about Chell; while GLaDOS makes many statements to Chell's background and history, GLaDOS herself admits she is unreliable. The only consistent fact that is used through the series is that Chell's parents gave her away. Whether they did it intentionally or not is unknown. Doug Rattmann Doug Rattmann, often referred to as the "Ratman" is a character in both ''Portal'' and ''Portal 2''. An audio commentary is an additional audio track, usually digital, consisting of a lecture or comments by one or more speakers, that plays in real time with a video. Commentaries can be serious or entertaining in nature, and can add information which otherwise would not be disclosed to audience members. History The Criterion Collection introduced audio commentary on the LaserDisc format, which was able to accommodate multiple audio tracks. The first commentary track, for the 1933 film ''King Kong'', was recorded by Ronald Haver, a curator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and was inspired by the stories Haver told while supervising the film-to-video transfer process. Criterion expected that the commentary would only be of interest to serious film students.
