Poria Illit
Poria Illit or Poriya Illit (, lit. "Upper Poriya") is a community settlement in northern Israel. Located near the southwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee, it falls under the jurisdiction of Emek HaYarden Regional Council. In it had a population of . History Poria was first settled in 1912 and operated as a farm run by Jewish immigrants from the Second Aliyah. However, the original residents left after the outbreak of World War I, and the land was abandoned until 1940. That year a group of settlers (''kvutza'') affiliated with the socialist-Zionist Noar HaOved (Working Youth) movement, ''Alumot,'' settled in the area. They renovated the original basalt stone houses, naming the village Poria Alumot. In 1947 they were given a permanent site for their kibbutz at Bitania Illit, on a hill opposite Poria. The new kibbutz was named Alumot. Another kibbutz founded in its place was dissolved in 1949 and most of the residents moved to Alumot. Poria Illit was established in 1955. In ...

Poria (fungus)
''Perenniporia'' is a cosmopolitan genus of bracket-forming or crust-like polypores in the family Polyporaceae. They are dimitic or trimitic with smooth, thick-walled basidiospores and cause a white rot in affected wood. Taxonomy ''Perenniporia'' was proposed by American mycologist William Alphonso Murrill in 1943 to contain two species formerly placed in ''Poria'', a genus formerly used to contain all crust-like poroid fungi. His description of the genus was: "Hymenophore become perennial, riding; context white or yellow; tubes pinkish, white or yellow, stratose in older specimens; spores hyaline." Murrill's concept was to move the species with annual fruit bodies (''Poria unita'' and ''Poria nigriscens'') into ''Perenniporia'', retaining ''Poria'' for those that produced perennial fruit bodies. The genus name combines the Latin word ''perennis'' ("perennial") with the genus name ''Poria Edalat''. Murrill's designated type species, ''P. unita'', had a broad and poorly de ...

Coccinellidae
Coccinellidae () is a widespread family (biology), family of small beetles. They are commonly known as ladybugs in North America and ladybirds in the United Kingdom; "lady" refers to Mary, mother of Jesus, mother Mary. Entomologists use the names ladybird beetles or lady beetles to avoid confusion with true bugs. The more than 6,000 described species have a global distribution and are found in a variety of habitats. They are oval beetles with a domed back and flat underside. Many of the species have conspicuous aposematic (warning) colours and patterns, such as red with black spots, that warn potential predators that they taste bad. Most coccinellid species are carnivorous predators, preying on insects such as aphids and scale insects. Other species are known to consume non-animal matter, including plants and fungi. They are Promiscuity#Other animals, promiscuous breeders, reproducing in spring and summer in temperate regions and during the wet season in tropical regions. M ...
