Saraiyahat is a community development blocks that forms an administrative division in the Dumka Sadar subdivision of the Dumka district, Jharkhand state. Godda is a community development block that forms an administrative division in the Godda subdivision of the Godda district, Jharkhand state, India. Geography Godda, the eponymous CD block headquarters, is located at . Godda district is a plateau region with undulating uplands, long ridges and depressions. The western portion of the Rajmahal hills passes through the district. The plain areas have lost its once rich forests but the hills still retain some. Kajhia, Sunder and Sakri rivers flow through the district. 2009 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2009 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election resulted in a fragmented assembly, with no single party achieving a clear majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) each secured 18 seats, while the Indian National Congress won 14 seats. The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM-P) obtained 11 seats, and several smaller parties, including the All Jharkhand Students’ Union (AJSU) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), captured a few seats as well. The 2005 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election was held in three phases from 3 to 23 February 2005 to elect the 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. It was the first election held in Jharkhand to elect the Second Jharkhand Legislative Assembly; the First/Interim Jharkhand Legislative Assembly was constituted based on the 2000 Bihar Legislative Assembly election.
