"Por Qué Será" ("Why Will That Be?") is a song written, produced, and performed by Italo-Venezuelan singer-songwriter Rudy La Scala. It was released as the lead single from Scala's fifth studio album of the same title (1991), and became his second No. 1 single in the ''Billboard'' Top Latin Songs chart following " El Cariño Es Como Una Flor" the previous year. The song debuted in the ''Billboard'' Top Latin Songs chart (formerly Hot Latin Tracks) chart at No. 22 in the week of September 14, 1991, climbing to the top ten four weeks later. "Por Qué Será" peaked at No. 1 on November 9, 1991, replacing " Cosas del Amor" by American singer Vikki Carr and Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Gabriel and being succeeded two weeks later by " Amor Mío, ¿Qué Me Has Hecho?" by Spanish singer-songwriter Camilo Sesto. Rudy La Scala
Rudy La Scala (born 20 January 1954) is a singer, songwriter and record producer, born in Rocca di Papa, Lazio, Italy. At a young age, La Scala migrated to Venezuela, where he completed his primary and secondary studies, while learning piano and guitar. He began his career with a short lived band named Las Explosiones de Goma in the 1960s. In 1971 he was presented as a solo artist under the name Flavio, finally presenting himself as Rudy La Scala in 1974. His work as a songwriter has been very successful, including songs recorded by and sale by team Guillermo Dávila, Karina, María Conchita Alonso, Kiara, Ruddy Rodríguez, Los Chamos, Proyecto M, Carlos Mata, Las Payasitas Nifu Nifa and Gerardo Mora. "Amor Mío, ¿Qué Me Has Hecho?" (English: ''My Love, What Have You Done with Me?'') is a song performed by Spanish singer-songwriter Camilo Sesto. It was released as the lead single from his 19th studio album '' A Voluntad del Cielo'' (1991). The song was written and produced by Camilo Blanes with additional production by Augusto César and became Sesto's first number-one hit in the ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Tracks chart. The song was released after the singer's temporary retirement from the music business in 1987 and was named "a good example of Sesto in its purest form, an interesting and well-built ballad, dressed with good sax interventions" by La Fonoteca on their review of the album '' A Voluntad del Cielo''. Rodven Records was a Venezuelan record label that belonged to the Cisneros family owned ODC Group, then proprietors of one of the largest TV networks in the country, Venevision. They also owned a nationwide AM radio network (RadioVision, which later expanded into the FM realm as FM Center) and a record stores chain (DiscoCenter), thus serving as a channel for those artists who belonged to the roster of either of those companies (mostly signed to Venevision). The year-end charts for the Hot Latin Songs chart are published in the last issue of Billboard (magazine), ''Billboard'' magazine every year. Initially, the chart was based on information provided by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems, which collected radio airplay, airplay information from Latin music, Latin radio stations in the United States. On the week ending October 20, 2012, the methodology was changed to track the best-performing Spanish-language songs based on digital downloads, streaming activity, and airplay from all radio stations in the country. Camilo Blanes Cortés (16 September 1946 – 8 September 2019), known professionally as Camilo Sesto, was a Spanish singer, songwriter and music producer. There are various sales figures for him, ranging from 70 to 200 million records sold, and the singer himself claimed to have sold more than 175 million records. However, his official sales would represent more than 2.8 million copies worldwide, including nearly 900,000 certified.
