Poprad River Gorge
The Poprad River Gorge () runs through the Western Carpathians, Western Carpathian Mountain Range in the southernmost part of Poland. It is formed by the river Poprad (river), Poprad, the only large river flowing north from Slovakia into Poland, the tributary of Dunajec near Stary Sącz, in Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The Gorge is located within the Poprad Landscape Park which is the biggest Landscape park (protected area), protected area in the country. It marks the frontier between Poland and Slovakia in the area. Geography The Poprad (river), Poprad forms several dramatic meanders between the towns of Piwniczna and Muszyna. Krynica-Zdrój
Krynica-Zdrój (until 31 December 2001 Krynica, Rusyn language, Rusyn: Криниця ) is a town in Nowy Sącz County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, southern Poland. It is inhabited by over eleven thousand people. It is the biggest spa town in Poland often called the ''Pearl of Polish Spas''; and a popular tourist and ski resort, winter sports destination situated in the heart of the Beskids mountain range. History and economy Krynica was first recorded in official documents in 1547 and was granted town rights in 1889. In the 17th century, mineral waters were discovered in the area.
