Poppy Cat
Poppy Cat is a series of books created by British illustrator and writer Lara Jones. The books are published by Campbell Books (a division of Macmillan Publishers), and include ''Poppy Cat's Play House'', ''Poppy Cat's Christmas'', ''Poppy Cat Loves Rainbows'', ''Poppy Cat's Dream'', and ''Poppy Cat's Sparkly Night''. The books have been published in many countries and have sold in excess of two million copies. Lara Jones
Lara Kate Jones (1975 – 26 March 2010) was a British artist, children's author and illustrator. She is best remembered for her ''Poppy Cat'' series of children's books, which have been published in 20 languages and sold over two and a half million copies. In 2012 a major award was set up in her name by Macmillan Children's books, called The Lara Jones Illustration Award, with a prize of £500 for the best illustration for a children's book by a new illustrator. So far there have been four winners. Early life Lara Kate Jones, was born in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire and spent her childhood in Shropshire. Both of her parents were writers. Mallory Hurwitz Lewis (née Tarcher; born July 8, 1962) is an American writer, television producer, ventriloquist, and puppeteer. Lamb Chop is a sock puppet created by Lewis' mother, Shari Lewis. Early life Mallory Lewis was born as Mallory Tarcher in New York City into a Jewish family. She is the daughter of Jeremy Tarcher and Shari Lewis (1933–1998), creator of Lamb Chop.
