Popolzai Tribe
Popalzai or Popalzay (), also known as Popal, are Durrani (formerly called Abdali or Bor Tareen) Pashtuns of Afghanistan. The Popalzai are part of the Zirak confederation of Pashtun tribes. The origin of the Abdali forefathers of the Saddozai tribe is probably the Hephthalites. The forefathers of Ahmad Shāh Durrānī, the founder of the Durrani Empire, were from the Sadozai tribe which is a subtribe of the Popalzai. According to Mohan Lal, the Zirak line begins with Sulaiman Zirak Khan, who was the father of Popalzai, Barakzai, and Alakozai. The tribe's origin is Kandahar, Afghanistan. The majority of the Popalzai live in the southern areas of Afghanistan such as in Kandahar, Helmand or Uruzgan. Some members of the Popalzai tribe have migrated with their families to the European Union, North America, and Oceania. Coronation

Barakzai
Bārakzai (, plur. , ) is the name of a Pashtun tribe from present-day Kandahar, Afghanistan. '"Barakzai" is a common name among the Pashtuns and it means "son of Barak" in Pashto. According to the Encyclopædia Iranica, "In the detailed Pashtun genealogies there are no fewer than seven instances of the ethnic name Bārakzī, at very different levels of tribal segmentation. Jan Mohammad Khan
Jan Mohammad Khan (died July 17, 2011) was a politician in Afghanistan, who served as Governor of Oruzgan Province from January 2002 to March 2006, member of the National Assembly, and a special adviser to President Hamid Karzai. He was an elder of the Popolzai Pashtun tribe in Oruzgan and a close ally of Hamid Karzai, who was from the Popalzai Durrani tribe. Early years and personal life Khan was illiterate. During the war against the Soviets he served as a commander in the Jamiat-e Islami political party of Afghanistan led by Burhanuddin Rabani in Uruzgan. He later joined Jabha-i-Nijat Milli or National Salvation Front, another jihadi movement led by Sibghatullah Mojaddedi, and remained with the group until the victory of the mujaheddin. Khairullah Said Wali Khairkhwa ( ; born 1967) is a member of the militant Taliban organization currently in control of Afghanistan, who has previously been called one of the "moderate" Taliban. Sardar Jahan Khan, better known simply as Jahan Khan, was the war minister and commander-in-chief (Sipah-Salar) under Ahmad Shah Durrani. In 1747, Ahmad Shah Durrani formed the Durrani Empire after he was elected as Afghan king in Kandahar by local chiefs. Naim Popal (Pashto/Dari: ) (born 18 June 1954) is an Afghan singer, songwriter, and composer. In 2006, Popal returned to perform for a New Year concert in Afghanistan after 30 years in exile.
