	Peter Popoff Peter George Popoff (born July 2, 1946) is a German-born American televangelist, charlatan, debunked clairvoyant, and faith healer. He was exposed in 1986 by James Randi for using a concealed earpiece to receive radio messages from his wife, who gave him the names, addresses, and ailments of audience members during Popoff-led religious services. Popoff falsely claimed God revealed this information to him so that Popoff could cure them through faith healing. He went bankrupt the next year, but made a comeback in the late 1990s. Beginning in the mid-2000s, Popoff bought TV time to promote "Miracle Spring Water" on late-night infomercials, and referred to himself as a prophet. 	Martin Popoff Martin Popoff (born April 28, 1963) is a Canadian music journalist, critic and author. He is mainly known for writing about heavy metal music. The senior editor and co-founder of '' Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles'', he has written over twenty books that both critically evaluate heavy metal and document its history. He has been called "heavy metal's most widely recognized journalist" by his publisher. Career Born in Castlegar, British Columbia, Popoff's interest in heavy metal began as a youth in Trail, British Columbia, in the early 1970s, when bands such as Led Zeppelin and Iron Butterfly were in the collections of the older brothers and cousins of Popoff and his friends. 	Frank Popoff Frank Popoff or Frank Popov (; October 27, 1935 – February 25, 2024) was a Bulgarian and American businessman. He served as the chairman of TCF Financial Corporation from April 2004. Biography Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on October 27, 1935, Popoff emigrated in 1941 with his father and mother, Eftim and Stoyanka Popoff and his sister Joan to Terre Haute, Indiana. He attended Terre Haute Wiley High School in Terre Haute, graduating in June 1953. He then attended college at Indiana University, graduating with an A.B. in chemistry in 1957, and an MBA from IU's Kelley School of Business in 1959. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. While in graduate school, he married Jean Urse, a graduate of the IU College of Education on August 30, 1958. They had three sons. Popoff died in Midland on February 25, 2024, at the age of 88. 	Alicia Popoff Alicia Dawn Popoff (1950 – March 9, 2015) was a Canadian abstract painter who worked primarily in acrylic and sometimes mixed media. She also worked in sculpture, sometimes collaborating with her husband and fellow artist and sculptor Leslie Potter. Popoff's work has been exhibited across Canada in numerous exhibitions and commercial galleries and can be seen in public and corporate collections. Early life, education and work Alicia Popoff was born in 1950 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She studied art at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1979 and her Master of Fine Arts in 1984. She originally planned to study political science and sociology, but quickly fell in love with art and the process of being an artist. She later worked at the University of Saskatchewan as a lecturer in the Department of Art and Art History as well as teaching children's and adult art classes. picture info	Andrei Alexandrovich Popov Andrei Alexandrovich Popov () (21 September 1821 - 6 March 1898) was an officer of the Imperial Russian Navy, who saw action during the Crimean War, and became a noted naval designer. Popov trained for the navy, and commanded ships before and during the Crimean War. He rose to the rank of rear-admiral and was assigned to supervise warship design and construction. He was in command of a squadron in the Pacific during the Polish Crisis that followed the January Uprising in 1863, and was sent to North America on a goodwill mission, and in order to raid colonial possessions should war break out between Russia and other European powers. Though there was no war, Popov spent a year in San Francisco, where the Russian presence had a distinct impact on life. Popov turned to warship design after his return to Russia, and proposed a series of warships in an unconventional circular design.
