''Popils'', known in Europe as ''Popils The Blockbusting Challenge'' and in Japan as , is a stage-based puzzle-platform game for the Game Gear. It was released in 1991 by Tengen in Japan. It has the option of English or Japanese-language play. Plot In a short animation at the start of the game, a beautiful Princess and a Boy fall in love. But the evil wizard named Popils kidnaps her and traps her inside an enchanted forest and it is up to the Boy to rescue her. When the game is completed the Boy and Princess are happily reunited and it's revealed Popils kidnapped the Princess because he was jealous and he loves her too. Gameplay Popils is a single-player puzzle game in the form of a two dimensional side-view platform game. The player controls one character, a Boy through different stages (referred to as rounds) and must reach the Princess on every stage to complete it. Fukio Mitsuji
, also known as "MTJ", was a Japanese game designer and artist. Mitsuji is best known for his work at Taito, where he created popular arcade platform game ''Bubble Bobble'' and its follow-up '' Rainbow Islands''. ''Zero'' was a video game magazine in the UK, published monthly by Dennis Publishing Ltd. between November 1989 and October 1992. (Actual publication dates were in the preceding month, as usual for UK magazines.) It won the InDin Magazine of the Year award in both 1990 and 1991, and was also briefly the best-selling multi-format 16-bit computer magazine in the UK. History The pre-launch editor and publisher was Teresa Maughan (also publisher of Your Sinclair) and initial editor was Gareth Herincx, who left during the compilation of issue 3, at which point Tim Ponting took over. FuncoLand was an American video game retailer based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, that specialized in selling new and used video game software. It is considered the first major video game retailer to allow consumers to sell and trade used video games. The chain's parent company Funco Inc. was established in the home of David R. Pomije in 1988, initially as a leaser of video games to video stores, and then as a mail-order business specializing in used video games. Paragon Publishing Ltd (or Paragon for short) was a magazine publisher in the UK, which published computer games and other entertainment titles from 1991 to 2003. Brief history Paragon Publishing Ltd was formed in a small office in Trowbridge, Wiltshire by ex-Future Publishing staff Richard Monteiro and Diane Tavener. With a small team of staff they began work on their first publication ''Sega Pro''. With the success of ''Sega Pro'' the company began expanding and launched several other titles, hiring more staff to produce these new titles. It was not long before the company moved into new premises in Bournemouth. The company continued to publish magazines for the video games market as well as other areas for the next decade. ''Sega Power'', initially known as ''S: The Sega Magazine'', was a Future publication aimed at the Sega range of consoles, including the Master System, Mega Drive, Game Gear and later on the Mega-CD, 32X and Saturn. The magazine was later relaunched as ''Saturn Power'' when the other Sega consoles were discontinued.
