The University of New Mexico (UNM; ) is a public university, public research university in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Founded in 1889 by the New Mexico Territorial Legislature, it is the state's second oldest university, a Flagship university, flagship university in the state, and the largest by enrollment, with 22,630 students in 2023. UNM comprises twelve colleges and schools, including a University of New Mexico School of Medicine, medical school and the University of New Mexico School of Law, only law school in New Mexico.
