Pontypridd United FC (formerly Pontypridd Town AFC) is a Welsh association football, football club, based in Pontypridd. The club play at USW Sports Park on Treforest Industrial Estate. The club plays in the . History 1990s The club was formed in 1992 after Pontypridd Sports & Social Club merged with another team, Ynysybwl Athletic A.F.C., Ynysybwl. Martyn Williams
Martyn Elwyn Williams, (born 1 September 1975) is a Welsh former professional rugby union player who played as a flanker. He earned 100 caps for the Wales national rugby union team, Wales national team, the most by a forward until he was surpassed by Gethin Jenkins in November 2013. He remains Wales's most-capped back-row forward. 2021–22 Cymru South
The 2021–22 Cymru South season (also known as the 2021–22 JD Cymru South season for sponsorship reasons) was the third season of the second-tier Southern region football in Welsh football pyramid. Teams will play each other twice on a home and away basis. Swansea University were the defending champions from the 2019–20 season, following the curtailment of the 2020–21 season. Pre-season favourites Ammanford AFC endured a season of struggle, with a three way title race for much of the season between Briton Ferry, Pontypridd Town AFC, and Llantwit Major AFC. After all three clubs lead at some point, Llantwit Major put together an outstanding finish to the season, winning 11 games out of 12 to lift the trophy with a game to spare. The Cymru League Cup, currently known as the Nathaniel MG Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a cup competition in Welsh association football, football organised by the Football Association of Wales. The competition was established in 1992 and is considered to be the second-most important domestic cup competition for Welsh football clubs, after the older and more prestigious Welsh Cup. Unlike the Welsh Cup, where 135 teams entered in Welsh Cup 2008–09, 2008–09, the competition is only open to the members of the Cymru Premier, the Cymru North, Cymru South and a very select few other clubs. The Cymru South is a regional association football, football league in Wales, covering the southern half of the country. It initially had clubs with semi-professional status. Together with the Cymru North, it forms the second tier of the Welsh football league system. The first year of its operation was in 2019–20 with the Football Association of Wales owning and administering the tier 2 leagues for the first time. The University of South Wales (USW) () is a public university in Wales, with campuses in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. It was formed on 11 April 2013 from the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport.
