A tehsil (, also known as tahsil, taluk, or taluka () is a local unit of administrative division in India and Pakistan. Thiruvallur District, also spelled as Tiruvallur District, is one of the 38 districts (an administrative district) in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The fast developing city of Tiruvallur is the district headquarters. The district has a mixture of urban and rural characteristics.
