Ponif Vaz
Ponif Vaz (born 4 October 1992) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a defender. Career Ponif joined Sesa Football Academy at 16 and has got years of experience playing in the Goa Professional League. The highlight of his career was winning the Gold Medal at the 2014 Lusophony Games with the Goa-India team. Ponif started his youth career with Salcete FC and has been part of the Goa football team for Santosh Trophy for the years. In 2015 after sesa withdraw their first team vaz jointed sporting goa. He made his professional debut for the Churchill Brothers at Fatorda Stadium against Punjab F.C. on 1 December 2019, He started and played full match as Churchill Brothers won 3–0. Fatorda
Fatorda is a suburb of the city of Margao in Salcete, Goa. Fatorda has been originally home to the traditional Scheduled Tribe/ Scheduled Caste population. The Catholic Gawda community has a very large presence in Fatorda. However, due to the increasing number of buildings in Fatorda, the population has become more diverse. Fatorda is also a constituency (30-Fatorda) in the Goa Legislative Assembly. Population Fatorda has a large number of people belonging to the aboriginal Gawda community. Luis Alex Cardozo, fondly known as "Mama" Cardozo, was the leader of the Gawda community and represented the Fatorda constituency in Goa state Assembly for a long time. The Lusofonia Games ( pt, Jogos da Lusofonia) is a multinational multi-sport event organized by the ACOLOP, which involves athletes coming from Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) countries. Most countries competing are countries that are members of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries), but some are countries with significant Portuguese communities or have a history with Portugal. The 2021–22 I-League (also known as Hero I-League for sponsorship reasons) is the 15th season of I-League, last as the top tier of Indian football league system, since its establishment in 2007.
