Pompiliu Iordache
Pompiliu Iordache (18 October 1954 – 23 October 2006) was a Romanian football forward. Club career Iordache was born on 18 October 1954 in Râmnicu Sărat, Romania, starting to play football at Foresta Gugești. In 1973 he moved to Unirea Focșani with whom he played in Divizia C and Divizia B for about six years. Iordache arrived at Dinamo București in 1980 where he was recommended by Titus Ozon. He made his Divizia A debut on 2 March, as coach Angelo Niculescu used him as a starter in a 2–1 away loss to Sportul Studențesc București. In the next round he netted his first goal in a 3–0 win over Olimpia Satu Mare. In the 1981–82 season, the club won The Double under coach Valentin Stănescu, Iordache playing 15 matches and scoring once in the league, also being used all the minutes in the 3–2 victory over FC Baia Mare from the Cupa României final in which he opened the score. Râmnicu Sărat
Râmnicu Sărat (also spelled ''Rîmnicu Sărat'', , or ''Rebnick''; ) is a municipiu, city in Buzău County, Romania, in the historical region of Muntenia. It was first attested in a document of 1439, and raised to the rank of ''municipiu'' in 1994. The city rises from a marshy plain, east of the Carpathian Mountains, and west of the cornlands of southern Moldavia. It lies on the left bank of the river Râmnicul Sărat. Fotbal Club Olimpia MCMXXI Satu Mare, commonly known as Olimpia Satu Mare, Olimpia MCMXXI or simply as Olimpia, is a Romanian professional football (soccer), football football team, club from Satu Mare, Satu Mare County, Romania, founded on 5 May 1921, re-founded in 2010 and 2018. Dukla Prague () was a Czech football club from the city of Prague. Established in 1948 as ATK Praha, the club won a total of 11 Czechoslovak league titles and eight Czechoslovak Cups, and in the 1966–67 season, reached the semi-finals of the European Cup. As late as 1985–86 they reached the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semi-final and they also made a great impact in the American Challenge Cup competition in New York City with four wins between 1961 and 1964. The 1982–83 European Cup was the 28th season of the European Cup, UEFA's premier club football competition. The tournament was won for the first time by Hamburg, who beat Juventus 1–0 in the final at Athens' Olympic Stadium. It was the first time since 1976 that the trophy was not won by an English club. Nicolae Dumitru (footballer)
Nicolae "Nicușor" Dumitru (12 December 1928 – 8 August 2005) was a Romanian striker and manager. He is the most successful Manager in Romania, winning the Romanian first league on seven occasions, all with Dinamo București. Nicolae Dumitru also won two Romanian Cups, and went on to guide Dinamo to the European Cup semi-finals in the 1983–84 season. He has a total of 558 matches as manager in Divizia A. The 1981–82 UEFA Cup was the 11th edition of the UEFA Cup, the third-tier club football competition organised by UEFA. The final was played over two legs at Ullevi, Gothenburg, Sweden, and at the Volksparkstadion, Hamburg, Germany. The final was won by IFK Göteborg of Sweden, who defeated Hamburger SV of Germany by an aggregate result of 4–0 to claim their first UEFA Cup title. This was the first of two UEFA Cup conquests for Göteborg, which were the only major European titles achieved by Swedish teams.
