Pomaranča
Pomaranča (trans. ''Orange''), signed as Orange on their English language releases, was a Slovenian and Yugoslav heavy metal band formed in Ljubljana in 1979. Releasing three studio albums during their original 1979–1986 run, the band was one of the most notable acts of the Yugoslav heavy metal scene. The band reunited at the beginning of the 1990s, recording one more studio album and disbanding shortly afterwards. In the following years, the band had several one-off reunions, making another full-scale comeback in 2024, but ending their activity in 2025, after the death of the band's guitarist and leader Miloje "Mijo" Popovič. NWOBHM
The new wave of British heavy metal (often abbreviated as NWOBHM) was a nationwide musical movement that began in England in the mid-1970s and achieved international attention by the early 1980s. Editor Alan Lewis coined the term for an article by Geoff Barton in a May 1979 issue of the British music newspaper '' Sounds'' to describe the emergence of heavy metal bands in the mid-to-late 1970s, as punk rock declined amid the dominance of new wave music. Although encompassing diverse styles inherited from rock music, the music of the NWOBHM is best remembered for infusing earlier heavy metal with the intensity of punk rock to produce fast and aggressive songs. The DIY attitude of the NWOBHM bands led to raw-sounding, self-produced recordings and a proliferation of independent record labels. Na Lepem Prijazni (transl. ''Suddenly Polite (Ones)'') is a Slovenian and Yugoslav jazz rock band formed in Ljubljana in 1978. Formed in the wake of Yugoslav punk and Yugoslav new wave scenes, Na Lepem Prijazni were one of the last bands of the Yugoslav progressive rock scene to gain the attention of the audience and the media with their avant-garde approach to music. The band released their debut self-titled album in 1981, ending their activity soon after its release. In 2005, the band's vocalist Andrej Trobentar and guitarist Vojko Aleksić reformed Na Lepem Prijazni. Budgie (band)
Budgie were a Welsh heavy metal band from Cardiff. The band formed in 1967, and recorded a demo the following year. In 1971, their first album was blues-oriented hard rock and produced by Rodger Bain, released by MCA. Later records found Budgie gradually moving into a harder and more aggressive sound. The band, usually a classic power trio with the occasional keyboard player, released ten albums, with MCA, A&M, and RCA, between 1971 and 1982, attracting a fair number of fans and achieving modest commercial success.
