Districts Of Slovakia
The districts of Slovakia are administrative units known as in the Slovak language. It is a second-tier territorial administrative unit, below a Region () in standing, and superior to a municipality (). Each district contains at least several municipalities. The cities of Bratislava and Košice are the only cities in Slovakia divided into internal urban districts, with five in Bratislava, and four in Košice. These urban districts are then further divided into smaller boroughs (which serve a function analogous to municipalities in typical districts). All other districts are larger in size and also include rural areas, and rural as well as urban municipalities. Each of these more typical districts has an urban centre serving as the seat of the district, usually the largest town (or the only town) of a given district. Utekáč
Utekáč () is a village and municipality in the Poltár District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. In the middle of Veporské vrchy, in the narrow valley of the Rimavica river, the village Utekáč is situated. Its name is derived from the ''útek'' (meaning ''escape'') of Hungarian king Bela IV ahead of the Tatars. History The first mention about Utekáč is from the year 1593. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Gömör and Kishont County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1945, it was part of the Slovak Republic. Development of Utekáč began in 1787 when earl Forgáč came to the territory. He built up a few glassworks from which just the biggest – Clara – is preserved. Aboriginal inhabitants of the glasswork's colony moved in families of glassworks experts from Germany, Hungary, Bohemia and Moravia. Uhorské
Uhorské () is a village and municipality in the Poltár District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. In the village, there is a football pitch, a grocery store, a post office, a library, a kindergarten and an elementary school. The village has retained its agricultural characteristics. The most significant sight is an evangelical church from 1700, which stands under state cultural protection. Šoltýska
Šoltýska () is a village and municipality in the Poltár District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. The village is located in Slovenské rudohorie mountains. In Šoltýska had been sawmill and watermill in the past. Now the village is mostly touristic location with the chalets inside the village and its neighborhood, that use mostly city holidaymakers during the weekends. Sušany
Sušany () is a village in the Poltár District of Slovakia. The village lies in the southern part of the historic area of Malohont, in the valley of the small river Suchá. History The first written notice about the village is from 1407, where it is mentioned as a property of Mikofalvy family. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Sušany was part of Gömör and Kishont County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1945, it was part of the Slovak Republic. The art of pottery along with agriculture have been the main source of income for local people since the first settlements in the Bronze Age. However, in 1950s the last pottery kiln, called bana, was closed. Considerable part of extant products is kept in the pottery collection in Sušany, placed in the municipal office.
