Poltavka (russian: Полтавка) is a village in the Jayyl District of Chüy Region of Kyrgyzstan established by migrants from Poltavshchyna of Ukraine in 1908. Its population was 4,700 in 2021. It is the center of Poltavka rural community (''ayyl aymagy''). Bishkek - Osh road passes through the settlement. Chüy Region
Chüy Region ( ky, Чүй облусу, Chüy oblusu; russian: Чуйская область, Chuyskaya oblast) is the northernmost region (''oblast'') of the Kyrgyz Republic. This region surrounds the national capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. It is bounded on the north by Kazakhstan, and clockwise, Issyk-Kul Region, Naryn Region, Jalal-Abad Region, and Talas Region. Its administrative center is Bishkek. Its total area is . The resident population of the region was 974,984 as of January 2021. Jayyl District
Jayyl (; called ''Kalinin District'' until May 1993) is a district of Chüy Region in northern Kyrgyzstan. Its area is , and its resident population was 112,211 in 2021. The administrative seat lies at Kara-Balta. It also administers an exclave in the southwestern heel of Chüy Region (the Suusamyr Valley, not on map at right), separated from the rest of the Jayyl District by the Panfilov District. Poltava Oblast ( uk, Полта́вська о́бласть, translit=Poltavska oblast; also referred to as Poltavshchyna – uk, Полта́вщина, literally 'Poltava Country') is an oblast (province) of central Ukraine. The Kyrgyz people (also spelled Kyrghyz, Kirgiz, and Kirghiz; ) are a Turkic ethnic group native to Central Asia.
