Polish Music Charts
The Polish music charts are provided by ZPAV, the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (Polish: Związek Producentów Audio-Video). Albums charts Current History In the 1970s and the 1980s, Polish music monthly ''Non Stop'' published a year-end list of the best selling albums in Poland. In the mid-1990s, two monthly sales lists were launched and published in music magazines. The first one was a top 50 compiled by ZPAV, based on shipment, not sales, which continues to be published to date. The other was a top 100 called Gorąca Setka (English: Hot 100), printed monthly in ''Gazeta Muzyczna''. This chart was compiled from actual sale figures as reported by over 130 music shops across Poland and included both albums and singles. From October 1994 to September 1997, journalist Artur Orzech presented a weekly top 20 albums list on Radio Bis which was later extended to 25 and 30 positions. Polish Society Of The Phonographic Industry
The Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (; ZPAV) is the trade organization that represents the interests of the music industry in Poland, and the Polish chapter of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Founded in 1991, it is authorised by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to act as a copyright collective in the field of phonogram and videogram producers' rights. ZPAV publishes the Polish Music Charts and awards music recording sales certifications. It also issues the Fryderyk annual award for Polish music. History ZPAV was officially founded on 11 July 1991, following the recognition of the IFPI given in June of that year. In February 1995, ZPAV was authorised by the Polish Ministry of Culture to act as a rights management organisation in the field of phonogram and videogram producers' rights. Hits Of The World
The Hits of the World is a collection of weekly record charts published by ''Billboard'' magazine. It ranks the top 25 songs in more than 40 countries around the globe based on streaming and digital sales. These charts in 40+ countries joined existing chart listings for ''Billboard''-branded licensees in Argentina, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, along with ''Billboard''s longstanding third-party partner charts like Official Charts Company in the United Kingdom. Announced on February 14, 2022, and launched the following day, the tracking period for each chart runs from Friday to Thursday of every week with new charts released every Tuesday. Top – Dyskoteki (English: ''Top – Discotheques'') was a record chart ranking the most popular dance songs played in nightclubs across Poland. History The chart was launched as Top 50 in April 2010 by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (ZPAV). It was compiled by Polish disc jockey organization DJ Promotion from several hundred play reports. The ranking was published biweekly on both DJ Promotion and ZPAV websites, although not always regularly, and in 2012, only one issue was made available. From February 2014, the chart was published weekly. ZPAV ceased publishing the chart in August 2018, but DJ Promotion has continued to compile it as Polish Dance Chart – DJ Top 50. A cardboard record, commonly referred to as a sound postcard (Polish: ''pocztówka dźwiękowa'') in Poland, is a type of cheaply made phonograph record made of plastic-coated thin paperboard that was particularly popular in Poland between the 1960s and 1970s, but also in other regions. These discs were usually small, had poor audio quality compared to vinyl or acetate discs, and were often only marginally playable due to their light weight, slick surface, and tendency to warp like a taco shell. Playability could be improved by placing a coin between the lock groove and the spindle hole to add weight and stability. Polskie Radio Program III (Polish Radio Three), known also as Radiowa Trójka or shortly Trójka is a radio channel broadcast by the Polish public broadcaster, Polskie Radio.
