The Polish Left () is a centre-left to left-wing political party in Poland. History The former Prime Minister Leszek Miller announced the formation of the Polish Left on September 20, 2007, because he was not on the list of Left and Democrats. In his announcement, Miller said that the new party would be a "true leftist" alternative to the LiD coalition. In 2007 elections Leszek Miller started from the Self-Defence of the Republic of Poland. The Polish Left party was formed when the Prime Minister and many other members of parliament withdrew from the Democratic Left Alliance, which Miller had headed for many years. His departure from the DLA also served as a public protest against the policies of party leaders, regarded by the protesters as not liberal enough. Democratic Left Alliance (Poland)
The Democratic Left Alliance () was a social democracy, social-democratic list of political parties in Poland, political party in Poland. It was formed on 9 July 1991 as an electoral alliance of centre-left politics, centre-left parties, and became a single party on 15 April 1999. Monika Anna Jaruzelska (born 11 August 1963) is a Polish journalist. She is the daughter of former Polish President Wojciech Jaruzelski and his wife Barbara Jaruzelska. Biography Jaruzelska was born in 1963 in Warsaw. She graduated in Polish studies from the University of Warsaw, and she also studied psychology. 2019 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 13 October 2019. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate of Poland, Senate were elected. 2007 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 21 October 2007. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate were elected. The largest opposition group, Civic Platform (PO), soundly defeated the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party and its allies. Throughout the campaign, polls showed conflicting results as to which of the two parties had the greater support, yet by the closing week the polls had swung in favour of Civic Platform. Three other political groups won the election into the Sejm, the centre-left Left and Democrats coalition, the agrarian Polish People's Party, and the tiny German Minority group.
