Polish Brazilians (, Polish: ''Polonia brazylijska'') refers to Brazilians of full or partial Polish ancestry who are aware of such ancestry and remain connected, to some degree, to Polish culture, or Polish-born people permanently residing in Brazil. Also, a Polish Brazilian may have one Polish parent. Polish immigrants began arriving in Brazil in the late 19th century and their total number was estimated at around 200,000. Immigration The first Polish immigrants arrived in the port of Itajaí, Santa Catarina, in August 1869. They were 78 Poles from the area of Southern Silesia. Commandant Redlisch, of the ship Victoria, brought people from Mitteleuropa to settle in Brusque. 7669 was an American Contemporary R&B, R&B girl group, who were signed to Motown Records in the 1990s. The name 7669 was a fusion of US independence (1776) & the sexual revolution (1969). The group was composed of members Angela "Big Ange" Hunte, Marcy "Shorti 1 Forti" Roberts, El-Melek A. "El Boog-E" Moore and Mallore "Thicknezz" Irvine. Their debut album, ''7669 East from a Bad Block'', was released on November 2, 1993, and scored two minor hit song, hits on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, R&B chart: "So High", which peaked at 35, and "Joy", which peaked at 72. The latter also peaked at number 60 in the UK singles Chart in June 1994. The band appeared on a 1993 episode of ''Soul Train''. Itajaí () is a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. It is located on the northern central coast of Santa Catarina and is part of the Vale do Itajaí Mesoregion, on the right bank of the Itajaí-Açu river mouth.
