Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "" written and performed by Elvir Laković Laka. The Bosnian-Herzegovinian participating broadcaster, Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT), internally selected its entry for the contest. Laka appointment was announced on 27 December 2007, while his song was presented to the public during a show entitled ''BH Eurosong 2008'' on 3 March 2008. Bosnia and Herzegovina was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 20 May 2008. Performing during the show in position 13, "Pokušaj" was announced among the 10 qualifying entries of the first semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 24 May. Eurovision Song Contest 2008
The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Belgrade, Serbia, following the country's victory at the with the song "" by Marija Šerifović. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the contest was held at the Belgrade Arena, and (for the first time) consisted of two semi-finals on 20 and 22 May, and a final on 24 May 2008. Bosnia and Herzegovina has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 19 times since making its debut in , after coming second in the qualification round " Kvalifikacija za Millstreet". Elvir Laković, also known as Laka ; born 15 March 1969), is a Bosnian rock singer-songwriter, born in Goražde, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Marija Šestić ( sr-cyr, Марија Шестић; born 5 May 1987) is a Serbs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnian Serb singer and musician.
