''High Stakes Poker'' is an American cash game poker television program. The poker variant played on the show is no limit Texas hold 'em. The first four seasons ran from January 16, 2006 to December 17, 2007 on GSN. The next three seasons ran from March 1, 2009 to May 21, 2011, and was simulcast in 3DTV on N3D. Phillip Jerome Hellmuth Jr. (born July 16, 1964) is an American professional poker player who has won a record seventeen World Series of Poker bracelets, the majority in no-limit hold'em. Nick Schulman (born September 18, 1984, in New York City) is an American professional poker player and commentator. Early life Schulman grew up in New York City, and began playing pool at the famous Amsterdam Billiards. He was mentored by several of the best players in the NYC area from ages 13–19, at which point his focus switched to poker. Poker career Schulman began to play poker in 2002, at the age of 18, and by the age of 19 went professional. Phillip Dennis Ivey Jr. (born February 1, 1977) is an American professional poker player who has won eleven World Series of Poker bracelets, one World Poker Tour title, and appeared at nine World Poker Tour final tables. Jean-Robert F. Bellande (; born September 17, 1970) is an American professional poker player, reality TV contestant, and a nightclub owner and promoter. Background Bellande was born in Long Island, New York to parents who emigrated from Haiti.
