Pogo (musician)
Christopher Nicholas "Nick" Bertke (born 26 July 1988), better known by his stage name Pogo, which is symbolized by an icon of a rabbit, is a South African-born Australian electronic musician. Much of his work consists of recording small sounds, quotes, and melodies from films, TV programmes or other sources, and sequencing the sounds together to form a new piece of music (a genre also known as plunderphonics). A number of Pogo's works consist almost entirely of the sounds he samples, with few or no additional music or sound samples. Music Pogo has produced tracks using samples from films and TV shows such as ''Pulp Fiction''. He has also sampled from other sources, such as field recordings for his project ''Remix the World. Remix the World'' was an ambitious project, consisting of all original content. Bertke shot real-world footage and then used those sounds and images to capture the essence of the places he visited. The Real World Remix was shot in Kenya, South Africa, Bhuta ...

Pogo Pin
A pogo pin or spring-loaded pin is a type of electrical connector mechanism with spring plungers that is used in many modern electronic applications and in the electronics testing industry. They are used for their improved durability over other electrical contacts, and the resilience of their electrical connection to mechanical shock and vibration. The name ''pogo pin'' comes from the pin's resemblance to a pogo stickthe integrated helical spring in the pin applies a constant normal force against the back of the mating receptacle or contact plate, counteracting any unwanted movement which might otherwise cause an intermittent connection. This helical spring makes pogo pins unique, since most other types of pin mechanisms use a cantilever spring or expansion sleeve. A complete connection path requires a mating receptacle for the pin to engage, which is termed a ''target'' or ''land''. A pogo target consists of a flat or concave metal surface, which unlike the pins, has no movin ...

Polaroid Corporation
Polaroid Corporation was an American company that made instant film and cameras, which survives as a brand for consumer electronics. The company was founded in 1937 by Edwin H. Land, to exploit his Polaroid (polarizer), Polaroid polarizing polymer. Land and Polaroid created the first instant camera, the Land Camera, in 1948. Land ran the company until 1981. Its peak employment was 21,000 in 1978, and its peak revenue was $3 billion in 1991. Polaroid Corporation declared bankruptcy in 2001; its brand and assets were sold off. A successor Polaroid company formed, and the branded assets changed hands multiple times before being sold to Polish billionaire in 2017. This acquisition allowed Polaroid B.V., Impossible Project, which had started producing instant films for older Polaroid cameras in 2008, to rebrand as Polaroid Originals in 2017, and eventually as Polaroid in 2020. Since the original company's downfall, Polaroid-branded products in other fields, such as LCD televisions a ...

Pogo Oscillation
Pogo oscillation is a self-excited vibration in liquid-propellant rocket engines caused by Rocket engine#Combustion instabilities, combustion instability. The unstable combustion results in variations of engine thrust, causing variations of acceleration on the vehicle's flexible structure, which in turn cause variations in propellant pressure and flow rate, closing the self-excitation cycle. The name is a metaphor comparing the Flight control surfaces#Longitudinal axis, longitudinal vibration to the bouncing of a pogo stick. Pogo oscillation places stress on the frame of the vehicle, which in severe cases can be dangerous. Origin NASA Associate Administrator for Manned Space Flight George Mueller (NASA), George Mueller explained Apollo 6's pogo oscillation to a congressional hearing: In general, pogo oscillation occurs when a surge in combustion chamber pressure increases back pressure against the fuel coming into the engine. This reduces fuel flow and thus chamber pressure. ...

Convair XFY Pogo
The Convair XFY-1 Pogo is an experimental VTOL, V/STOL (vertical/short takeoff and landing) aircraft developed during the early years of the Cold War. It was intended to be a high-performance fighter aircraft capable of operating from small warships. Lockheed Corporation, Lockheed and Convair were awarded contracts to build experimental VTOL fighters, with Convair producing the XFY-1, also known as the "Pogo." It was developed as an attempt to create a practical V/STOL aircraft. The XFY-1 featured a unique design with delta wings and three-bladed contra-rotating propellers powered by a turboprop engine. Test flights began in 1954, and the aircraft's capabilities were pushed to their limits. Challenges included difficulties in slowing down and landing at high speeds, as well as the need for highly skilled pilots due to its complex handling characteristics. Landing the XFY-1 was difficult, as the pilot had to look over his shoulder while carefully working the throttle to land. Ult ...

Bell Pogo
The Bell Pogo was an experimental rocket vehicle that was designed by Bell Aircraft for NASA.http://www.thunderman.net/products/entertaining.php Its function was to transport one or two astronauts on the lunar surface. The Pogo never went into production. The device Bell Aircraft built several versions of the Pogo under contract with NASA as a possible civil and military transport, because it was intended to be used as a means of transportation on the moon during Apollo missions, as well as an army transport over things like ravines, however NASA decided not to use the POGO because of the risk of a crash, and decided to send the Lunar Roving Vehicle. Bell demonstrated that all the versions of the POGO flew in Earth atmosphere. The first POGO was a single place model with a vertical tube with a stand for the pilot to stand with the rocket engine and peroxide tanks at the front. A second POGO was the two place POGO that was able to carry a passenger in front and it was controlled fr ...

POGO (tracking Station)
Pituffik Space Base ( ; ; ), formerly Thule Air Base (), is a United States Space Force base located on the northwest coast of Greenland in the Kingdom of Denmark under a defense agreement between Denmark and the United States. 150 United States guardians serve there, after the United States significantly reduced its presence from 6000 personnel during the Cold War. Denmark was a founding member of NATO in 1949, and the 1951 Greenland Defense Agreement allowed the United States to operate the base under a NATO framework, as long as both Denmark and the United States remain NATO members. Under the agreement, the Danish national flag must be flown at the base to recognize that the base is on Danish territory, but the United States is allowed to fly its own flag alongside the Danish flag on the facilities it operates. It is the northernmost installation of the U.S. Armed Forces, north of the Arctic Circle and from the North Pole. Pituffik's Arctic environment includes icebergs ...
