Plutko
Adam Gregory Plutko ( ; born October 3, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles and in the KBO League for the LG Twins. He played college baseball for the UCLA Bruins. Amateur career Plutko attended Glendora High School in Glendora, California, and then enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Though he was selected by the Houston Astros in the sixth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft, he opted not to sign with the Astros. At UCLA, Plutko was a member of the Bruins baseball team. He was teammates with future MLB All-Stars Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer. 2013 College World Series
The 2013 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, May 31, 2013, as part of the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 team double elimination tournament concluded with the 2013 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, which began on June 15 and ended with the final round on June 25. The UCLA Bruins swept the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a best-of-three series to win the NCAA National Championship, the university's first in baseball and the 109th national title in all sports. The 64 participating college baseball teams were selected from an eligible pool of 298 NCAA Division I programs. Thirty teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their individual conferences. Glendora High School
Glendora High School (GHS) is located in Glendora, Los Angeles County, California, United States. History The high school was built in 1958 on land owned by Clarks Gordan, an orange grower. Before it was built, Glendora students attended Citrus Union which functioned as both a high school and junior college for the area. The land contained oak trees which still grow on the school grounds. The first graduating class of GHS was in 1959 and contained 188 students. The school's teams are known as the Glendora Tartans. This name was chosen by the first class in a vote between "Tartans" and "The Oranges". College World Series Most Outstanding Player
The Men's College World Series Most Outstanding Player is an award for the best individual performance during the NCAA Division I Men's College World Series (MCWS) in Omaha, Nebraska. The recipient of the award is announced at the completion of the MCWS Championship Series. The award is similar to Major League Baseball's World Series Most Valuable Player award. Division II introduced their own Most Outstanding Player award for their inaugural tournament in 1968 while Division III also has their own Most Outstanding Player for their baseball tournament. Since 1999, the winner of the award has received a miniature replica of "The Road to Omaha" sculpture, which is situated at the current MCWS site of Charles Schwab Field Omaha. 2013 Mississippi State Bulldogs Baseball Team
The 2013 Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team represented Mississippi State University in the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The team was coached by John Cohen, in his 14th year as a collegiate head coach, and his 5th at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs play their home games at Dudy Noble Field, and compete in the Southeastern Conference's West Division. The UCLA Bruins baseball team is the varsity college baseball team of the University of California, Los Angeles. Having started playing in 1920, the program is a member of the NCAA Division I Pac-12 Conference, Big Ten Conference. Trevor Bauer
Trevor Andrew Bauer (born January 17, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, and Los Angeles Dodgers. After starring as a pitcher for three seasons at William S. Hart High School, Bauer graduated a year early and enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Gerrit Alan Cole (born September 8, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros. Cole played for the baseball team at Orange Lutheran High School and was selected by the Yankees in the first round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Cole opted not to sign and instead attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he played college baseball for the UCLA Bruins.
