Please Heat This Eventually
''Please Heat This Eventually'' is a 12" EP from Gold Standard Laboratories and is a collaboration between Omar Rodríguez-López Group and Damo Suzuki of the group Can. It features both live performance of the group (then named Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Quintet) with Suzuki in Cologne, Germany on November 14, 2005, and studio recorded elements arranged together into one extended piece. The EP consists of a single 25-minute track split up over both sides of the record. Parts 1, 2, and 3 appear on side 1 and parts 4, 5, and 6 appear on side 2. It was released commercially on January 23, 2007 on vinyl, though GSL pre-orders began shipping in December 2006. A shorter, instrumental version of the song (recorded live in Kortrijk, Belgium) appears on ''Se Dice Bisonte, No Búfalo'', while the full EP with Damo's vocals appears as a bonus CD on the Japanese edition of the same album. Omar Rodríguez-López
Omar Alfredo Rodríguez-López (born September 1, 1975) is an American guitarist and songwriter. He has formed or played in several bands, including the Mars Volta, At the Drive-In, Antemasque, and Bosnian Rainbows. He was the bassist for the dub band De Facto. He has embarked on a solo career, both in studio and in concert, frequently described as experimental, avant-garde, or progressive. He has also collaborated with numerous artists, such as John Frusciante and El-P. Biography Rodríguez-López was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in El Paso, Texas, and spent some of his childhood in South Carolina. Marcel Rodríguez-López
Marcellus Rodríguez-López (born September 29, 1983) is a Puerto Rican multi-instrumentalist musician and younger brother of Omar Rodríguez-López. He is best known as the keyboardist and percussionist of The Mars Volta and the drummer for Zechs Marquise. He also produces electronic music under the moniker Eureka the Butcher. Biography Marcel has been noted as to playing the bongos, congas, drums, cymbals, Maracas, keyboards and shekere. Mark Ramos Nishita (born February 10, 1960), known professionally as Money Mark, is an American producer and musician, best known for his collaborations with the Beastie Boys from 1992 until 2011. Early life Born in Detroit to a Japanese-Hawaiian father and a Chicano mother, Nishita moved with his family to Los Angeles, California when he was six. Career His first album '' Mark's Keyboard Repair'' (1995), was made up of keyboard driven pop-funk songs recorded at demo quality. Juan Alderete de la Peña (born September 5, 1963) is an American musician, best known as the longtime bassist of Racer X, the Mars Volta and Marilyn Manson. Biography Alderete was born in Los Angeles, California the fourth of five children. In the 1970s, the family moved to Novato of the San Francisco Bay Area. Son of the late civil rights activist Angel Manuel Alderete, he was exposed to jazz music on a weekly basis by his father, who often played it around the Alderete household.
