''Playbill'' is an American monthly magazine for Audience, theatergoers. ''Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz'', or simply ''Wicked'', is a Musical theatre, musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. Brian Stokes Mitchell
Brian Stokes Mitchell (born October 31, 1957) is an American actor and singer. A powerful baritone, he has been one of the central leading men of the Broadway theater since the 1990s. He has received numerous accolades including a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and a nomination for a Grammy Award. In 2016 he received the Isabelle Stevenson Award. Playbill Records is an American record label, and subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. History Playbill, a monthly publication for theatre, music and the performing arts, expanded into music through Playbill Records in June 2006. Launched in partnership with Sony BMG's Legacy Recordings and Sony BMG Masterworks, the label's primary goal is to develop a broad fanbase for artists, while at the same time introducing new audiences to the recordings contained in Sony BMG's archives. ''Chicago'' is a 1975 American musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Set in Chicago in the Jazz Age, the musical is based on a Chicago (play), 1926 play of the same title by Maurine Dallas Watkins about actual criminals and crimes on which she reported. Gilman Kraft
Gilman Kraft (April 22, 1926 – June 27, 1999) was an American publisher and former owner of ''Playbill''. Biography Kraft was born in Union City, New Jersey on April 22, 1926. During World War II, he served as a Japanese linguist. After graduating from Columbia College in 1947, he founded the Reader's Subscription book club in 1951, and hired Lionel Trilling, Jacques Barzun, and W. H. Auden as editors. In 1957, Kraft took over the then-flagging Broadway program service ''Playbill'' and operated it for ten years. He was also publisher of ''Show'' magazine in 1965 and 1966. He then moved to Los Angeles to found Performing Arts in 1966, while also investing in commercial and residential real estate. A programme or program (see spelling differences) is a booklet available for patrons attending a live event such as theatre performances, concerts, fêtes, sports events, etc. It is a printed leaflet outlining the parts of the event scheduled to take place, principal performers and background information.
