"Playa Hata" is a song by American West Coast hip hop duo Luniz featuring R&B singer Teddy. It was released in November 1995 through Virgin Records America, C-Note Records, and Noo Trybe as the second and final single off of the duo's debut studio album ''Operation Stackola''. Production was handled by E-A-Ski & CMT, who used a sample of Bobby Caldwell's " What You Won't Do for Love" as well as the interplation during the chorus of Chuckii Booker's 1992 hit "Games". In the United States, the single reached number 51 on the ''Billboard'' Hot R&B Singles chart and number 13 on the Hot Rap Singles chart. In the United Kingdom, it peaked at number 20 on the UK singles chart, number 12 on the UK Dance Albums Chart and number 4 on the UK Hip Hop and R&B Albums Chart. Chuckii Booker
Eugene Allen Booker, Jr. (born December 19, 1962), known professionally as Chuckii Booker, is an American producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and bandleader from Los Angeles, California. Biography Booker emerged in the late 1980s as an urban contemporary R&B artist and producer. He began recording music after being signed by his godfather, Barry White, to his production company in 1984. Later, he played keyboards with the short-lived Epic Records band Tease for three years. Booker received his recording contract in an unlikely manner. He gave his demo tape to the manager of Gerald Albright to showcase his skills as a musician, but had forgotten about the songs on the other side of the tape that contained original songs with his vocals. As a result, he was offered a recording contract with Atlantic Records. 3X Krazy (pronounced 3-Times Crazy) was an American hip hop group formed in Oakland, California in 1994. The group consisted of members Keak da Sneak, B.A. and Agerman. They were signed to Noo Trybe Records. History Founding 3X Krazy was formed in 1994 and was signed to Str8 Game Records. It was written by Caldwell and Alfons Kettner, and produced by Ann Holloway. The song has been covered and sampled numerous times, including by Tupac Shakur in the posthumous 1998 hit " Do for Love". Background and release After gaining a reputation in Miami clubs as a talented musician, Caldwell was signed to an exclusive contract with TK Records in 1978 by TK Records president Henry Stone. Heading to the studio, Caldwell recorded his first album, which was given a redo after Stone felt the album was good but "didn't have a hit".
