Planta Europa
Planta Europa is a network of independent organisations, non-governmental and governmental, working together to conserve European wild plants and fungi. It brings together more than 70 member organisations from 37 European countries. The Planta Europa Network was established in 1995 as a result of a conference discussing pan-European cooperation for plant conservation. Since then, Planta Europa has held a conference every three years (1998 in Sweden, 2001 in the Czech Republic, 2004 in Spain, 2007 in Romania, 2011 in Poland, 2014 in Greece and 2017 in Ukraine). The next conference is due to be held in Hungary in June 2025. At these conferences, botanists and plant conservationists from countries across Europe gather to discuss the directions and joint goals for plant conservation. Europe
Europe is a continent located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere. Plant
Plants are the eukaryotes that form the Kingdom (biology), kingdom Plantae; they are predominantly Photosynthesis, photosynthetic. This means that they obtain their energy from sunlight, using chloroplasts derived from endosymbiosis with cyanobacteria to produce sugars from carbon dioxide and water, using the green pigment chlorophyll. Fungi
A fungus (: fungi , , , or ; or funguses) is any member of the group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as yeasts and mold (fungus), molds, as well as the more familiar mushrooms. These organisms are classified as one of the kingdom (biology)#Six kingdoms (1998), traditional eukaryotic kingdoms, along with Animalia, Plantae, and either Protista or Protozoa and Chromista. Conservation Movement
The conservation movement, also known as nature conservation, is a political, environmental, and social movement that seeks to manage and protect natural resources, including animal, fungus, and plant species as well as their habitat for the future. Conservationists are concerned with leaving the environment in a better state than the condition they found it in. Evidence-based conservation seeks to use high quality scientific evidence to make conservation efforts more effective.
