Plac Konstytucji () is a proposed and planned Warsaw Metro The Warsaw Metro ( pl, Metro Warszawskie) is a rapid transit underground system serving the Polish capital Warsaw. It currently consists of two lines, the north-south Line M1 which links central Warsaw with its densely populated northern and sou ... station. It was included in the original plans, however it was temporarily dropped in 1989 due to budget constraints. As of 2009 this station is in hiatus - it is listed as a planned investment, but the last official update regarding its status dates to 2006. However, in September 2019 the Warsaw city council announced plans to build the station after all. A contractor has been announced, and will have until 2026 to build the station. The proposed location of the station is the corner of Marszałkowska and Hoża streets, some 300 m north of the Constitution Square. Warsaw Metro
The Warsaw Metro ( pl, Metro Warszawskie) is a rapid transit underground system serving the Polish capital Warsaw. It currently consists of two lines, the north-south Line M1 which links central Warsaw with its densely populated northern and southern districts, and the east-west Line M2, of which the westernmost segment is in construction. A third line ( M3) is still being planned. The system is operated by Metro Warszawskie sp. z o.o., a company owned by the city, and managed by Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego w Warszawie (ZTM Warszawa). The first section was opened in 1995 and gradually extended until it reached its full length in October 2008. There are additional plans to construct two more stations on this north-south line omitted during initial construction due to costs. The contract for the construction of the initial central section of the second line, running east-west was signed on 28 October 2009 and construction began on 16 August 2010. Plac Konstytucji (Polish pronunciation: ), or Constitution Square in English, is a major square situated in the central Śródmieście district of Warsaw, Poland. Overview The square was constructed in the initial post-war years on the Marszałkowska street as a main element of social realist urban project, based on the designs of Jankowski, Knothe, Sigalin and Stępiński. Together with the Palace of Culture and Science it was the main architectural social realist investment of Warsaw in 1949–1956. Its name comes from the Stalinist constitution adopted in communist Poland in July 1952. Architects envisaged the square to be the final point of First of May parades.
