Piyush Anand
Piyush Anand (born 18 June 1968) is a 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Since 1 April 2024, he has served as the Director General of the National Disaster Response Force of India. Early life Anand was born to Anand Kr. Agarwal in 1968 and he hails from Delhi, India. Education Anand has completed M. Tech in (Mechanical engineering) from IIT Delhi and also Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management from MDI Gurgaon. Career Anand holds many special or high rank posts in the central government's agencies and they have been awarded for his work. He has served in CBI for more than 7 years, in CRPF for more than 3 years. He has also served in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as ADG/SDG for more than a year and anand joining the National Disaster Response Force as Director General on 1 April 2024. IIT Delhi Alumni
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) are a network of engineering and technology institutions in India. The All India Services (AIS) comprises three Civil Services of India common to the centre and state governments, which includes the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS), and the Indian Forest Service (IFS). Central Industrial Security Force
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is a central armed police force in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs. CISF's primary mission is to provide security to large institutions, be it state or privately-owned. It was set up under an Act of the Parliament of India on 15 March 1969 with a strength of 2,800. CISF was subsequently formally authorized by another Act of Parliament passed on 15 June 1983. Its current active strength is 148,371 personnel. In April 2017, the government raised the sanctioned strength from 145,000 to 180,000 personnel. Recently the strength has been increased to 200,000.
