Pissing Razors
Pissing Razors is an American groove metal band formed in El Paso, Texas in 1993. Their most recent album ''Eulogy Death March'' was released in 2021. History The band was started by brothers Eddy and Danny Garcia in 1993. Eddy played guitar and Danny played drums, and they were joined by singer Dave McNutt and bassist Mat Lynch. McNutt soon departed and was replaced by Joe Rodriquez. They self-released an album titled ''Psycho Punko Metal Groove'' in 1996. By 1997, Danny Garcia had departed and Eddy Garcia switched to drums while Lynch switched to guitar, with Rick Valles joining on bass. A self-titled debut album was released in 1998 by Noise Records. The band's lineup remained stable until 1999, when Lynch departed and was replaced by Cesar Soto. In 2000, they contributed to the album ''Panther: A Tribute to Pantera.'' Groove metal, sometimes also called neo-thrash or post-thrash, is a subgenre of heavy metal music that began in the early 1990s. The genre is primarily derived from thrash metal, but played in slower tempos, and making use of rhythmic guitar parts. It was pioneered in the late 1980s by groups like Exhorder, Prong and Bad Brains, and then popularized by the commercial success of Pantera, White Zombie, Machine Head and Sepultura. The genre went on to be influential in the development of the new wave of American heavy metal, nu metal and metalcore, and continued to gain traction in the 2000s with Lamb of God, DevilDriver and Five Finger Death Punch, and 2010s with Killer Be Killed and Bad Wolves. Noise Records
Noise Records is a German heavy metal record label founded in 1983 by German music industry personality Karl-Ulrich Walterbach as an expansion of his company Modern Music Records. It was sold to the Sanctuary Records Group in 2001 and ceased any activity in 2007 due to the bankruptcy of Sanctuary. The Noise catalogue was consequently acquired by Universal Music Group later on. Nailbomb
Nailbomb is a heavy metal band formed in 1993 as a side project by Brazilian musician Max Cavalera (then the frontman of Sepultura) and British musician Alex Newport of Fudge Tunnel. They played a combination of primarily industrial metal and thrash metal. The band recorded one studio album, '' Point Blank'', and played a warmup live performance and their only official gig for 29 years at the 1995 Dynamo Open Air Festival two days later, after which the band disbanded.
