Mahmud Eyvazov
Mahmud Bagir oglu Eyvazov (; claimed to have lived 7 February 1808 – 3 December 1960) was a well-known Azerbaijani long-lived collective farmer (originally from a mountain Talysh village). According to Soviet officials, he lived for 152 years and 300 days. Biography Data on the alleged age of Eyvazov, a resident of the high-mountainous ( above sea level) village of Pirəsora in the Lerik District of Azerbaijan, first became known after the all-Union census of the USSR in 1959. According to official data, Mahmud Eyvazov was 150 years old in the year of the census. Eyvazov's work experience was also a record: 135 years. According to the teacher of the local secondary school in the village of Pirəsora, Enver Agayev, Mahmud Eyvazov was not tall, but well-built, of medium fullness, gray-bearded, with intelligent eyes and a moving face. Lerik Rayon
Lerik District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the southeast of the country and belongs to the Lankaran-Astara Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Yardimli, Masally, Lankaran, Astara and the Ardabil Province of Iran. Its capital and largest city is Lerik. As of 2020, the district had a population of 87,000. It is located between the Talysh Mountains and the agricultural plain of the Lankaran Lowland. History Lerik district was established in August 1930. Lerik, Azerbaijan
Lerik () is the capital city of Lerik District in the southern area of Azerbaijan not far from the Iran border. It is located in the Talysh Mountains, a northwestern subrange of the Alborz (''Elburz'') mountain range. The majority of the population is Talysh. History Lerik is considered one of the ancient settlements of Azerbaijan. There are imprints of ancient people who lived in the caves. Nowadays there are settlement imprints which belong to bronze-Neolithic ages. Lerik became a center of Zuvand Region of Azerbaijan SSR. In 1930 this region was renamed as Lerik.
