Pir Roshan
Bāyazīd Khān Ansārī (; – 1585), commonly known as Pīr Rōshān or Pīr Rōkhān, was an Afghan warrior, Sufi pir and revolutionary leader. He wrote mostly in Pashto, but also in Persian, Urdu and Arabic. His mother tongue was Ormuri. He is known for founding the Roshani movement, which gained many followers in present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan, and produced numerous Pashto poets and writers. Pir Roshan created a Pashto alphabet, derived from the Arabic script with 13 new letters. A modified version of this alphabet continues to be used to write Pashto. Pir Roshan wrote '' Khayr al-Bayān'', one of the earliest known books containing Pashto prose. Pir Roshan assembled Pashtun tribesmen to fight against the Mughal emperor Akbar in response to Akbar's continuous military agitations. The Mughals referred to Pir Roshan as ''Pīr-e Tārīk'' (). Pashto Language
Pashto ( , ; , ) is an eastern Iranian language in the Indo-European language family, natively spoken in northwestern Pakistan and southern and eastern Afghanistan. Tirah
Tirah, also spelled Terah (), also called the Tirah Valley (), is a mountainous region located in the Orakzai District and the southern part of the Khyber District, positioned between the Khyber Pass and the Khanki Valley in Pakistan. Due to its proximity to the Afghan-Pakistan border and challenging terrain, maintaining control of Tirah has been historically difficult for the Government of Pakistan. In 2003, for the first time since Pakistan's independence, the Army entered the Tirah Valley. Kurram Valley
Kurram District () is a district in the Kohat Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The name Kurram comes from the river ''Kwarma'' () in Pashto, which itself derives from the Sanskrit word ''Krumu'' (). Until 2018, it functioned as an agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. However, with the merger of the FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it attained the status of a district. Akhund Darweza
Akhund Darweza Baba (1533 - 1638) was a Tajik Sufi and Islamic scholar and one of the caliphs of Sayyid Ali Tirmizi. Darweza's mother Abida Faqir Qarari was the great-grand-daughter of Sultan Qiran Gibari, a Sultan of Swat belonging to Swati tribe. Early life and education Darweza was born in 1533 to Shaikh Gadai somewhere in Buner District. He had a zeal for religion since childhood. He failed to get a proper education but later he went to make up for his shortcomings and learn Sufism from a few religious scholars like Syed Mesar Ahmad, Mullah Zangi and Mullah Sanjar. Pir Baba
Sayyid Ali Tirmizi (), more commonly known as Pir Baba (), was a Sufi pir who settled in Buner in present-day Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. There, he lived among the Yusufzai Pashtuns. He was a Naqvi Syed, probably born in 908 AH (1502 CE), in Fergana (present-day Uzbekistan), of Sayyid descent, He died in AH 991 (1583 CE). He was a supporter of the Mughal emperor Akbar, and was an opponent of Bayazid Pir Roshan. Akbar (Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar, – ), popularly known as Akbar the Great, was the third Mughal emperor, who reigned from 1556 to 1605. Ormuri
Ormuri (Ormuri: اورموړی Pashto: اورموړی) also known as ''Baraki, Ormur, Ormui or Bargista '' is an Eastern Iranian language spoken in the Waziristan region of Pakistan. It is primarily spoken by the Burki people in the town of Kaniguram in South Waziristan. A small number of speakers are also found in Logar, Afghanistan. The language belongs to the Eastern-Iranian language group. The extremely small number of speakers makes Ormuri an endangered language that is considered to be in a "threatened" state. Ormuri is notable for its unusual sound inventory, which includes a voiceless alveolar trill that does not exist in the surrounding Pashto. Ormuri also has voiceless and voiced alveolo-palatal fricatives (the voiceless being contrastive with the more common voiceless palato-alveolar fricative), which also exist in the Waziristani dialect of Pashto, but could have been adopted from Ormuri due to its close proximity..
