Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club
Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club is an artistic gymnastics club based at Ipswich Gymnastics Centre in Ipswich. The club was established at the centre when local clubs combined and has trained many Great Britain women's national artistic gymnastics team, British national team members including Emily Roper (gymnast), Emily and Abigail Roper. The club is coached by Josie Hayes and Will Banthorpe. Ipswich gymnastics centre The Ipswich Gymnastic Centre was opened in November 1999 as one of the first purpose-built facilities to benefit from National Lottery funding. It is one of only three fully London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) accredited gymnastics facilities in the United Kingdom and was used for training sessions in the run up to the 2004 Olympic Games by the Romanian gymnastics team. Artistic Gymnastics
Artistic gymnastics is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on different types of apparatus. World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships are the world championships for artistic gymnastics governed by the International Gymnastics Federation, Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). The first edition of the championships was held in 1903, exclusively for male gymnasts. Since the tenth edition of the tournament, in 1934, women's events are held together with men's events. The FIG was founded in 1881 and was originally entitled FEG (Fédération Européenne de Gymnastique), but changed its name in 1921, becoming the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG); this name change roughly correlates with the actual naming of the World Championships. Halle Hilton
Halle Hilton (born 10 June 2004) is a British-born artistic gymnast who represents Ireland in international competition. A former British junior national team member, she participated in the 2018 European Championships where she won a bronze in the team competition. She began representing Ireland at the senior level in 2022 and is a five-time Northern European Championships medalist. She is the 2023 Irish national all-around champion. Anamaria Tămârjan
Anamaria "Ana" Tămârjan (also spelled Tămîrjan, born 8 May 1991) is a Romanian artistic gymnast. She is a bronze Olympic medalist and a gold European medalist with the team. Individually, she is a European silver medalist on balance beam and a bronze medalist on floor. Her favorite events are the floor and the balance beam. Early life and career She is an identical twin; her sister Adriana was also a world-class gymnast and a member of the Romanian national team, but she is now retired.
