Pinner Football Club was a football club based in Pinner, England. History Founded in 1892, Pinner spent their formative years in the Middlesex Senior League and the London League, joining the Spartan League in 1927. In 1938, Pinner won the Spartan League Division Two. Following World War II, Pinner entered the FA Cup for the first time in 1945, losing 2–1 against Wealdstone in the preliminary round. In 1952, Pinner left the Spartan League, joining the Southern Amateur League until they folded in 1961. Pinner is a suburb in the London Borough of Harrow, northwest London, England, northwest of Charing Cross, close to the border with Hillingdon, historically in the county of Middlesex. The population was 38,698 in 2021. Originally a mediaeval hamlet, the St John Baptist church dates from the 14th century and other parts of the historic village include Tudor buildings. The newer High Street is mainly 18th-century buildings, while Bridge Street has a more urban character and many chain stores. History Pinner was originally a hamlet, first recorded in 1231 as ''Pinnora'', although the already archaic ''-ora'' (meaning 'hill') suggests its origins lie no later than circa 900. London League (football)
The London League was a football (soccer), football competition that was held in the London and surrounding areas of south-east England from 1896 until 1964. In 1896 the president of the London League was Arnold Hills founder of Thames Ironworks F.C. (which later reformed as West Ham United). One of the men who helped draft the rules of the competition was Francis Payne, club secretary of Thames Ironworks F.C. in 1897. The league started with three divisions, the 3rd Grenadier Guards F.C., 3rd Grenadier Guards winning the inaugural championship. Wealdstone () is a district located in the centre of the London Borough of Harrow, England. It is located just north of Harrow town centre and is south of Harrow Weald, west of Belmont and Kenton, and east of Headstone. The area accommodates most of Harrow's industrial and business designated land. Wealdstone was the location of the Kodak Harrow factory; it closed in 2016. Wealdstone is centred on the High Street, and much traffic is bypassed from here by the George Gange Way flyover built in 1996. Its western boundary is formed by Harrow View, across which Headstone Manor lies, whereas on the east is Byron Park and the Belmont Trail. The Southern Amateur League (SAL) is an association football league in England affiliated to the Amateur Football Alliance (AFA). It is based in and around Greater London and caters for 11–a–side men's adult teams. A feature of the league is 'multi-team football', common in AFA leagues, with clubs fielding an average of 3.5 teams each. For season 2023–24 the league has over 40 open aged member clubs and several veterans-only clubs running around 190 teams in 17 divisions. All clubs are strictly amateur.
