Boško Palkovljević Pinki
Boško Palkovljević Pinki ( sr-Cyrl, Бошко Палковљевић „Пинки"; 1920–1942) was a prominent Partisan fighter during World War II in Yugoslavia and a People's Hero of Yugoslavia. Biography Palkovljević was born on 14 December 1920 in the village of Manđelos (part of Sremska Mitrovica), in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (today Serbia). After finishing the elementary school, he enrolled at the High School for Mechanics in Novi Sad. Pinki joined the SKOJ while in school, and, in 1940, became the leader of the school's SKOJ section. Soon he organized student strike, during which the students demanded better conditions for studying and better treatment from professors. He was later arrested because his organization took part in the textile workers' strike. He spent two months in detention, but was released due to the lack of evidence against him. Pinki (Hindi: पिंकी) a comics series by Diamond Comics characterizes a five-year-old girl. The Character of Pinki was created by Cartoonist Pran Kumar Sharma in year 1978. The comic is distributed in 10 languages. Pinki is often seen with her pet squirrel named Kut-Kut. The other notable characters in this comic are her neighbor Jhapatji, her friends Bhiku and Champu. Pinki has also appeared in Chacha Chaudhary and Billoo comic books. Whenever she tries to help her neighbor Jhapatji, she always messes everything and whole neighborhood is scared of her menace doings. Adaptation In 2009, Diamond Comics, the owner of characters Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu and Pinki tied up with License India, to bring them to silver screen as animation characters. Pinki Cultural and Sports Center ( sr-Cyrl, Културно спортски центар Пинки), commonly known as Pinki Hall ( sr-Cyrl, Хала Пинки), is an indoor multi-sports venue located in Belgrade's municipality of Zemun, Serbia. The venue has an indoor hall and an indoor swimming pool. The hall has a seating capacity of 2,300 for sports events and around 5,000 for concerts. Opened on 21 October 1974, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Zemun being liberated from the Nazis and their puppet state Independent State of Croatia, the hall has hosted various basketball, handball, and volleyball teams. Its initial full official name was Dom sportova, omladine i pionira Pinki (Pinki Hall of Sports, Youth, and Pioneers). It now mostly serves for recreational use.
