Pinhas Hozez
Pinhas Hozez (; born September 8, 1957) is an Israeli former basketball player. He played the forward position. He played in the Israeli Basketball Premier League and for the Israeli national basketball team. Biography Hozez was born in Jaffa, Israel. He is 1.98 meters tall. He attended the University of Portland. Hozez played basketball for the Portland Pilots in the 1979–80 season. Hozez played in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Between 1974 and 1995 he competed for Israeli teams Hapoel Tel Aviv, Beitar Tel Aviv, Elitzur Ramla, Hapoel Haifa, and Bnei Herzliya Basket. Forward (basketball)
Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. Bnei Herzliya Basket (, lit. ''Sons of Herzliya''), is a professional basketball club that is based in Herzliya, in central Israel. The club plays in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, the top division of Israeli basketball. History The club was originally founded in 1985, under the name Hapoel Herzliya. In 2002, the club merged with Maccabi Ra'anana in a neighboring town, and was re-named Bnei HaSharon. Hapoel (, ) is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties.
