Chen Ping (Han Dynasty)
Chen Ping (; died November 179 BC), posthumously known as Marquis Xian of Quni (), was a Chinese politician who served as a chancellor during the early Han dynasty. He was a key adviser to Liu Bang (Emperor Gaozu), the founding emperor of the Han dynasty, and had played a significant role in aiding Liu Bang overcome his rival Xiang Yu during the Chu–Han Contention (206–202 BC). Early life Chen Ping was born in a peasant family in Huyou Town (), Yangwu County (), which is in present-day Lankao County, Henan. As his parents died when he was young, he was raised by his elder brother, who worked as a farmer on the 30 '' mu'' of land owned by their family. Since he was a child, he was known for being studious and for having an ambition to serve the country. Not long later, the townsfolk nominated Chen Ping to be their ''shezai'' (; a local leader). Chen Ping (born 1955) is a Chinese businessman who is the chairman of Sun Television Cybernetworks Enterprise Limited. He graduated from Anhui Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College in 1973. In 2011 he started ''iSun Affairs Weekly Magazine''. Attack in Hong Kong On about 3 June 2013 at 6 pm, Chen Ping in Chai Wan One, at the new Owen Center on Yip Street, was ambushed by two men, about 30 years old, according to police reports. Both men were armed with sticks. They struck Chen on the head. He was subsequently sent to Eastern Hospital. On June 5, Chen held a press conference about the incident, stating that the two assailants did not say anything, so he couldn't discern an accent, nor could he discern a motive, but was still suffering from tinnitus as a result. Police also quoted Chen Ping, and said the assailants planned an escape route to deliberately evade security cameras. Duke Ping of Chen (; reigned 777 BC – died 755 BC), personal name Gui Xie, was a duke of the Chen state. Duke Ping was a younger son of Duke Wu, who died in 781 BC and was succeeded by his elder son Duke Yi. However, Duke Yi died in 778 BC after only three years of reign, and Duke Ping succeeded his elder brother as the ruler of Chen.
