Pindi Club Ground
Pindi Club Ground, also known as the Army Sports Ground, is a multi-use stadium in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It is used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium can accommodate 15,000 people and hosted its first and only international Test match in 1965. It also hosted one match as part of the 1987 Cricket World Cup. It was the only cricket ground in Rawalpindi capable of hosting international matches until the establishment of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in 1992. History The first ever double century here was scored in 1893 by the grandson of Queen Victoria, Prince Christian Victor, who was then posted in the army at Rawalpindi. He scored 205 runs against Devonshire Regiment while playing for King's Royal Rifles. The ground also hosted the Marylebone Cricket Club for two matches, one against the Europeans and the other versus Rawalpindi Sports Club, in November 1926. The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team, (; ) nicknamed The Lions, represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It is a full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status. Richie Richardson
Sir Richard Benjamin Richardson, KCN GCM (born 12 January 1962) is a former West Indies international cricketer and a former captain of the West Indian cricket team. He was a flamboyant batsman and superb player of fast bowling. He was named, in 1992, one of Wisden's Cricketers of the Year. Richardson was famous for his wide-brimmed maroon hat which he wore against even the fastest bowlers, though in his later career, he started wearing a helmet instead. Richardson, who skippered the Leeward Islands, also featured for Yorkshire and Northern Transvaal in his career. Richardson assumed the role, in January 2011, of West Indies' manager for an eventual five year period. Since then he has continually worked as an ICC match referee. Ehsan Mani (Urdu: ; born 23 March 1945) is a Pakistani chartered accountant who is the former president of International Cricket Council (ICC) and former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Early life Mani was born in Rawalpindi Pakistan into a Pashtun family. His early life was spent in Pakistan playing for the Rawalpindi Club and Government College Lahore XI from 1959 to 1965 as a right-hand batsman and a left-arm fast medium bowler before moving to the United Kingdom to complete his further studies.
