In cognitive psychology, cognitive load is the effort being used in the working memory. A Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) is a system designed to alert pilots if their aircraft is in immediate danger of flying into the ground or an obstacle. An airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS, usually pronounced as ''ay-kas'') operates independently of ground-based equipment and air traffic control in warning pilots of the presence of other aircraft that may present a threat of collision. Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501 was a scheduled international passenger flight operated by Indonesia AirAsia from Surabaya, Java, Indonesia, to Singapore. On 28 December 2014, the Airbus A320-216 flying the route crashed into the Java Sea, killing all 162 of the people on board. When search operations ended in March 2015, only 116 bodies had been recovered. This is the first crash and only fatal accident involving Indonesia AirAsia.
