Pietro Borradori
Pietro Borradori ( Milan, 1965) is an Italian composer and pianist. Biography He began to play Piano at the age of 8 years-old. At 12, he started to compose his first short pieces for piano. He then studied Piano with Carlo Pestalozza in Milan, graduated in Musical Composition at the Conservatory of Milan with Giacomo Manzoni, and at Accademia Chigiana of Siena with Franco Donatoni. He subsequently studied in Freiburg with Emmanuel Nunes and in Paris with Gerard Grisey. In addition to his musical formation he studied Architecture at the Politecnico of Milan. From 1987 to 1992 he taught Composition at the Conservatory of Music of Trento. His pieces has been performed by the main European Ensembles and Orchestras. Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) was a division of a German media company Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets to Sony Corporation of America on 1 October 2008. Although it was established in 1987, the music company was formed as RCA/Ariola International in 1985 as a joint venture to combine the music label activities of RCA's RCA Records division and Bertelsmann's Ariola Records and its associated labels which include Arista Records. It consisted of the BMG Music Publishing company, the world's third largest music publisher and the world's largest independent music publisher, and (since August 2004) the 50% share of the joint venture with Sony Music, which established the German American Sony BMG from 2004 to 2008. Fonit Cetra was an Italian record label, active between 1957 and 2000. History Fonit Cetra was founded in 1957 from merging two already existing labels: Cetra (acronym from Compagnia per edizioni, teatro, registrazioni ed affini), owned by RAI and previously EIAR, and (acronym from Fonodisco Italiano Trevisan), founded in 1911 in Milan. Both labels had already been popular, thanks to such artists as Nilla Pizzi, Achille Togliani, Natalino Otto and Domenico Modugno. Fonit Cetra continued to use two old names on their records and maintained two different offices, in Turin and Milan, until the 1970s, when the main headquarters were relocated to Milan. In July 1987, the company's name was changed to Nuova Fonit Cetra. In 1997, it became part of RAI Trade, however, in 1998, it was sold to Warner Music Group which acquired its catalogue.
