Pierre Henry (painter)
Pierre Henry, RCA (1932 to 2013) was a French Canadian artist and painter born in Gaspésie, Quebec, who became the first president of the ''Centre les impatients'' in 1992. Life and career Henry studied art in Montreal at the École des beaux-arts, ultimately spending most of his life in the Montreal subregion. Henry is known for his landscape oil paintings and abstract works, and has exhibited in galleries throughout Canada and North America. His work has been characterized as displaying “a serious lack of seriousness”, which is also a feature of the artistic movement, “''anecdotism''”, which Henry founded. Henry’s art features in several prestigious institutional collections, such as at the Royal Bank of Canada, IBM Canada and DuPont. The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) is a Canadian arts-related organization that was founded in 1880. Art Therapy
Art therapy (not to be confused with ''arts therapy'', which includes other creative therapies such as drama therapy and music therapy) is a distinct discipline that incorporates creative methods of expression through visual art media. Art therapy, as a creative arts therapy profession, originated in the fields of art and psychotherapy and may vary in definition. There are three main ways that art therapy is employed. The first one is called analytic art therapy. Analytic art therapy is based on the theories that come from analytical psychology, and in more cases, psychoanalysis. Analytic art therapy focuses on the client, the therapist, and the ideas that are transferred between the both of them through art. Another way that art therapy is utilized is art psychotherapy. Saint-Lambert () is a city (french: ville) in southwestern Quebec, Canada, located on the South Shore (Montreal), south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Montreal. IBM Canada's head offices are currently located in Markham, Ontario and have been there since the early 1980s. The current building IBM occupies is located at 3600 Steeles Avenue East and was completed in 1995. IBM Canada's previous head office was located across the street at 3500 Steeles Avenue East (now Liberty Centre, Markham). The building rises from four floors on the west to seven floors at the east side. There is an underground ramp that is accessible from the left-most lane on east-bound Steeles Avenue that provides access to the building's parking area at the rear. Abstract art uses visual language of shape, form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.
