Pierre Daher
Chakib Pierre Daher ( ar, بيار شكيب ظاهر; born 10 July 1960) is a Hungarian physician and politician of Lebanese descent, member of the National Assembly (MP) from Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Regional List from 2010 to 2014. He had been a member of the Committee on Health Affairs from 5 July 2010 to 5 May 2014 and Committee on Foreign Affairs between 28 February 2011 and 23 September 2013. Biography Pierre Daher was born near to the Israel-Lebanon border into a Maronite Catholic family on 10 July 1960. He studied as a construction engineer in Beirut, but later turned to the medicine, when moved to Brussels in 1981. He went to Budapest because of financial problems, where his brother, Ziad learnt. Later their younger brother, Paul also started his studies here. Pierre finished higher education at Semmelweis University (SOTE) and started work for the hospital in Miskolc as a surgeon. National Assembly Of Hungary
The National Assembly ( hu, Országgyűlés, lit=Country Assembly) is the parliament of Hungary. The unicameral body consists of 199 (386 between 1990 and 2014) members elected to 4-year terms. Election of members is done using a semi-proportional representation: a mixed-member majoritarian representation with partial compensation via transfer votes and mixed single vote; involving single-member districts and one list vote; parties must win at least 5% of the popular vote in order to gain list seats assembly. The Assembly includes 25 standing committees to debate and report on introduced bills and to supervise the activities of the ministers. Edelény
Edelény is a town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Northern Hungary. It lies in the valley of Bódva River, north of the county seat, Miskolc. The historic L'Huillier-Coburg Palace is located there. History The area has been inhabited since ancient times (Paleolithic stone tools were found here). Edelény was first mentioned in 1299, but the village of Borsod, which was annexed to the town in the 20th century, was already mentioned in 1108 (Borsod ''comitatus'' belonged to the castle of Borsod in the Middle Ages). The residents of Edelény worked in agriculture in mediaeval times. During the Turkish occupation of Hungary, the town was deserted several times. In the 19th century, industry became more important in the area. In 1838, a sugar factory was built, and a brown coal mine was opened. Pál Schmitt
Pál Schmitt (; born 1942) is a Hungarian Olympic fencer and politician who served as President of Hungary from 2010 until his resignation in 2012, following his academic misconduct controversy. Schmitt was a successful fencer in his youth, winning two gold medals at the Summer Olympics. Later, he served as an ambassador during the 1990s and was a Vice-President of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2010. After briefly serving as Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary in 2010, Schmitt was elected President of Hungary in a 263 to 59 vote in the National Assembly.
