Pierre Caille (sculptor)
Pierre Jules Louis Lucien Ghiskain Caille (11 January 1911, in Tournai – 24 October 1996, in Linkebeek), was a Belgian sculptor, painter, engraver, ceramicist and jeweller. Caille briefly attended the Academy of Tournai (1926) and the advertising section in La Cambre (1931), and ceramics (1938) and is also close to Roger Guérin (1896 in Jumet – 1954 in Bouffioulx), Henry van de Velde, George Grard, Charles Leplae. Pierre Caille is a multifaceted and atypical painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, potter, jewelry designer. His inspiration shows a fertile imagination, and gives form to the wonderful and extraordinary. From 1949 to 1976, Pierre Caille is a professor at La Cambre, where he leads the class of ceramics. Tournai
Tournai or Tournay ( ; ; nl, Doornik ; pcd, Tornai; wa, Tornè ; la, Tornacum) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Botanique ( French) or Kruidtuin (Dutch) is a Brussels Metro station on the northern segment of lines 2 and 6. It is located under the Small Ring (Brussels' inner ring road) at the Rue Royale/Koningsstraat in the municipality of the Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, north of the City of Brussels, Belgium. It opened as a ''premetro'' (underground tram) station on 18 August 1974 and became a full metro station on 2 October 1988. The Brussels Metro (french: Métro de Bruxelles, nl, Brusselse metro) is a rapid transit system serving a large part of the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium. It consists of four conventional metro lines and three ''premetro'' lines. The metro-grade lines are M1, M2, M5, and M6 with some shared sections, covering a total of , with 59 metro-only stations. The ''premetro'' network consists of three tram lines (T3, T4, and T7) that partly travel over underground sections that were intended to be eventually converted into metro lines. Linkebeek
Linkebeek (; ) is a Belgian municipality in Flanders, part of the province of Flemish Brabant, and in the administrative district of Halle-Vilvoorde. The municipality only comprises the town of Linkebeek proper. As of 1 January 2006, Linkebeek has a total population of 4,759. The total area is 4.15 km² which gives a population density of 1,147 inhabitants per km². Language and politics The official language is Dutch language, Dutch with Municipalities with language facilities, French facilities. In 1954, these special linguistic rights or "facilities" were given to Francophones, who then constituted nearly 40% of the population according to the 1947 census.
