Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau
Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau (born October 6, 1979, in Drummondville, Quebec) is a Canadian freestyle skier who currently resides in Drummondville. Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau participates in the mogul discipline. Rousseau has been part of two historic sweeps of the medal podiums on the 2008-09 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup tour with Alexandre Bilodeau and Vincent Marquis. Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau was the world champion at the 2007 Freestyle Ski World Championships in the moguls event. Rousseau also achieved at silver in the moguls event of the 2001 World Championships at Blackcomb. At the age of 30, Rousseau competed in his first Olympic Games at the 2010 Winter Olympics, placing fifth. Freestyle skiing is a skiing discipline comprising aerials, moguls, cross, half-pipe, slopestyle and big air as part of the Winter Olympics. It can consist of a skier performing aerial flips and spins and can include skiers sliding rails and boxes on their skis. Known as "hot-dogging" in the early 1970s, it is also commonly referred to as freeskiing, jibbing, as well as many other names, around the world. Blackcomb Peak
Blackcomb Peak ( Ucwalmícwts: Tsíqten) is a mountain located east of Whistler, British Columbia that forms the boundary between the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort and Garibaldi Provincial Park. Like Whistler Mountain, it is located on the edge of Garibaldi Provincial Park and the ski lifts are often used to access the park, particularly for the Spearhead Traverse. Several ski runs are established on the mountain, with Whistler Village at the base of the mountain on the side facing Whistler Mountain, and Blackcomb Village below the opposite face.
