Pierluigi Sangalli
Pierluigi Sangalli (5 November 1938 – 13 March 2025) was an Italian comic artist, comic writer and illustrator. Life and career Born in Monza, while studying accounting Sangalli had as a classmate Alberico Motta, of whom he became a close friend and who later introduced him to the comics publisher Renato Bianconi. He made his professional debut in 1958, collaborating with the comics magazine ''Soldino''. He began his career as an inker, and then started writing stories for series such as '' Trottolino'' and ''Volpetto''. In the same period, he debuted as comic artist with the Italian version of Felix the Cat. Sangalli was most active as a cartoonist for ''Braccio di Ferro,'' the Italian version of ''Popeye,'' among other things drawing all the covers of the regular series from 1963 until its closure. Nonna Abelarda
Nonna Abelarda (literally Grandma Abelarda) is a comic fictional character created by Giovan Battista Carpi. Abelarda first appeared in 1955, as a side character in the ''Volpetto'' comic strips; from 1957 to 1991 she also was the main focus of the comic book series ''Soldino'', in the role of nurse and bodyguard of the title character. Over the years she had similar roles in other less successful comic books published by Edizioni Bianconi such as ''Bongo'' and '' Provolino'', and was leading character of an eponym comic book, ''Nonna Abelarda'', published between 1971 and 1974. Galerie Lambiek is a Dutch comic book store and art gallery in Amsterdam, founded on November 8, 1968 by Kees Kousemaker (, – Bussum Bussum () is a commuter town and former municipality in the Gooi region in the south east of the province of North Holland in the Netherlands near Hilversum. Topo Gigio
Topo Gigio () is a fictional anthropomorphic mouse, originally the lead character of a children's puppet show on Italian television in the early 1960s. The character, created in 1958 by artist Maria Perego, her husband Federico Caldura and fellow artist Guido Stagnaro, debuted on RAI in 1959 and has been customarily voiced by actor Giuseppe "Peppino" Mazzullo and later Davide Garbolino. His name literally translates to 'Louie Mouse', as is the Italian word for 'mouse' and ''Gigio'' is a nickname for ''Luigi'' ('Louis'). Provolino
Provolino was an Italian puppet character who enjoyed huge success in Italy between the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was created by Castellano and Pipolo who also wrote the dialogues. Television The puppet was introduced by Raffaele Pisu in the RAI variety shows ''Vengo anch'io'' and ''Ma che domenica amici'' in 1968. A baby with big teeth, he was featured as the disrespectful alter ego of Pisu, with whom he had constant bickering which always ended with the catchphrase: "Boccaccia mia statti zitta!" (i.e. "bad mouth of mine, please shut up!"). The puppet was animated by Pisu himself and originally voiced by Oreste Lionello, replaced by Franco Latini in 1969.
